H1N1 Vaccination Pentagon Schedule
Vaccinations will be distributed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday until the supply has been exhausted. Eligible personnel for the vaccine with a valid CAC⁄military ID include active duty members, DoD civilians, all reserve components, DoD contractors and other eligible beneficiaries of the military health system ages 17 years and older. You should not get the shot if you have or had a history of Guillian-Barre Syndrome, you are allergic to eggs or if you have an illness with fever now or in the last 48 hours. The DiLorenzo TRICARE Health Clinic is closed on weekends and will be closed Nov. 26-29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. The clinic is located outside⁄behind the E Ring between corridors eight and nine. The Fort McNair Clinic will begin administering H1N1 vaccines Monday, Nov. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Active Duty Fort McNair servicemembers only. ICAF and NDU have a designated H1N1 campaign date of Nov. 14 and 15, which has already been arranged.

Holiday Mail guidelines
U.S. Postal Service officials have announced recommended mailing dates for delivery by Christmas to U.S. servicemembers serving in Afghanistan and other overseas locations. Officials recommend that parcel post mail to all military overseas locations should be sent by today. The deadline for parcel airlift mail is Dec. 1, and space-available mail bound for Afghanistan should be sent by tomorrow. First-class and priority mail for servicemembers stationed in Afghanistan should be sent by Dec. 4 for arrival by Christmas. A chart with recommended mailing deadlines for all types of mail to various APO and FPO addresses is available at the USPS Web site at www.usps.com⁄communications⁄newsroom⁄2009⁄pr09_082.htm. Express mail cannot be used to mail packages to Afghanistan; however priority mail is available. The priority mail large flat-rate box can be used to mail to any overseas military address for $11.95. Support Military Families in need this Thanksgiving
The USO of Metropolitan Washington is experiencing an unprecedented number of requests for Thanksgiving food baskets from military Families in need. USO-Metro has already received 300 requests for Thanksgiving baskets. USO-Metro is now calling on the community for help in the form of grocery store gift cards to meet the need. Using donated grocery store gift cards, USO-Metro will provide active duty military Families in need with holiday baskets. The suggested donation to help a family of six have a holiday meal is $50. Joint Base Turkey Trot
Today at 6:35 a.m. MCCS Henderson Hall’s Semper Fit will join with Fort Myer MWR for a Turkey Trot. The 5k fun run⁄one mile walk begins at the Fort Myer fitness center and ends at MCCS Henderson Hall’s Smith Gym. Categories include runners and walkers, male and female, plus biggest unit participation. Transportation between venues before and after the race will be provided. Family Team Building Sessions
MCCS Henderson Hall offers sessions to build strong Family teams. Offerings include Four Lenses, a communication improvement seminar; leadership skills training based on the book, ‘‘Who Moved My Cheese;” LINKS mentoring for Marines, spouses and children; and support groups for Families of deployed servicemembers. MCCS Henderson Hall holds a LINKS session for Marine Corps spouses tomorrow from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Bellevue Housing Community Center. Fort Myer Catholic Community holdinginformation session
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults continues each week following the 9 a.m. Mass in the library at Memorial Chapel. Thanksgiving Day Holiday Meal
The Thanksgiving holiday meal will be served in the Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall dining facilities at Fort McNair Nov. 23 and at Fort Myer Nov. 26. Meal card holders must present a valid meal card and military ID card. Officers, warrant officers and private through sergeant major will pay the holiday meal rate of $7. Each person is required to sign-in indivdually not as a group and not the combined total. The dependents of E-4 and below will pay the holiday meal ‘‘discount rate” of $5.95. Each person is required to sign in individually. Members of foreign military, contractors, civilian employees, military retirees, civilian dignitaries and guests will pay the holiday meal rate of $7. 2009 All-Army Digital Photography Contest
The Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command announces the 2009 All-Army Digital Photography Contest for MWR patrons and professionals. The contest is an annual juried competition of digital image photographs. The contest has two separate divisions: Div. I for ‘‘active duty” patrons and Div. II for ‘‘eligible civilian” patrons. Each Division has two classes: Monochrome Digital Images and Color. The contest is Web based and entries can only be submitted online at the contest site https:⁄⁄artscrafts.fmwrc.army.mil. an AKO account is required to access the contest site. Contest deadline is Nov. 30.
