Army-Navy Parade Dec. 11

E-Mail This Article Print This Story
Cmdr. Steven Roberto and AWFC Travis Blofsky work on a ‘‘smoke trail” for the Test Pilot School float in last year’s parade.
All across the Naval Air Station, preparations are underway for the 10th Annual Army-Navy Parade and Pep Rally Dec. 11.

Begun as a way of showing support for the Naval Academy Midshipmen in their historic gridiron battle against West Point’s Black Knights, the pep rally and parade have evolved into a boisterous display of patriotism and esprit de corps.

This year’s parade will begin at 3 p.m., wending its way from Building 409 to the Flight Deck Lounge for a pep rally and post-parade party.

As in years past, this year’s parade will muster behind air station headquarters, Building 409, then proceed down Cedar Point Road, up Buse Road toward NAVAIR headquarters, then left on Liljencrantz Road for the home stretch to the Flight Deck Lounge.

Parking will be available in several lots along Cedar Point Road between Tate and Buse roads for viewers driving over to line the route. Buse and Liljencrantz roads are popular locations as well, particularly for spectators from Building 2272.

For more information on the parade and pep rally, or to register your float, contact Rebecca March at 301-757-6629.
