Walter Reed Army Medical Center celebrated Halloween last week with activities for the young and the young-at-heart.
The Directorate of Nutrition Care sponsored its annual pumpkin-carving contest Oct 26-30 and competitors went all out in their originality, creativity and artistic endeavors.
Specialist Nicholas Bissell of Walt’s Express and his family won the prize for funniest pumpkin, which featured a carved dog. Carly Bryner and her colleagues in the department of pathology and area lab services-hematology won most original pumpkin for their microscope carving, and Donald Scott of nutrtition care supply won scariest pumpkin for his haunted castle carving.
Last Friday, the Warrior Transition Brigade’s Family Readiness Group held their annual Halloween parade and took children trick-and-treating at offices on Walter Reed’s main installation. The parade ended with a party at the WRAMC dining facility.
