Pageant part of Marine Corps Birthday
Marine Corps Combat Development Command will host the Marine Corps Birthday Pageant on Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Little Hall theater to celebrate the 234th Marine Corps birthday.
The event will consist of the presenting of colors; a pageant, where Marines will showcase historical uniforms; and a cake cutting ceremony. The uniform for Marines attending is Service Bravos with garrison cover
and ribbons.
Hockey game benefits Toys for Tots
The National Capital Region Military Hockey team will hold its second annual Toys For Tots Charity hockey game Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. at the Prince William Ice Center located off Dale Boulevard as they take on the DC Police Hockey team.
All proceeds go to the Toys For Tots organization. Admission is $10 or a new unwrapped toy (of $10 value or greater). There will also be a chuck-a-puck and a shoot out for prizes during the breaks as well as a raffle for other prizes like a Capitals team autographed jersey.
The NCR Hockey team is a charity, non-profit hockey club made up of players who are either active duty, reserve or retired military from the National Capital Region.

Don’t throw it away, give it away
Families Helping Families will be collecting items to give away Friday at Larson Gym, Bldg. 2112, from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Needed are clothes, shoes, books, educational materials, movies, housewares, linens, decorative items and toys in good condition. There will be an area to display flyers or pictures of furniture or other large items to be given away.
Donated items will be available for giveaway Saturday from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. (military only, must show I.D.) From 10 – 11 a. m. the public is welcome.

Volunteers needed for Nov. 11 event
The Adopt-a-School Program is seeking four Marines to speak to children, grades 6 through 12 in Madison, Va., about serving their country and being proud to be Marines on Nov. 11. Transportation will be provided and will leave Lejeune Hall at 5 a.m. To volunteer or for information on upcoming events, call the Community Relations Branch at 703-784-2741.
Marine Corps Birthday Meal Schedule
In celebration of the 234rd Marine Corps Birthday, a special lunch meal will be served at all mess halls aboard Marine Corps Base, Quantico. The dates, locations and times are listed below:
Bruce Hall (Building 2000), Nov. 10 (VIPs and Marines in Uniform authorized at 10 — 11:30 a.m. All others, i.e., Retirees, Civilians, and Guests (11:30 a.m. — 1 p.m.). All Civilians will enter thru the Submarines entrance.
