On Oct. 1, the North Atlantic Regional Medical Command became the Northern Regional Medical Command (Provisional) as part of the Army’s reorganization of its regional medical commands to match TRICARE regions.
At this time, the Northern Regional Command is a change in name only and will consist of the same organizations and still include the following military hospitals and clinics: Walter Reed Army Medical Center; Womack Army Medical Center; Guthrie Army Health Clinic; Keller Army Community Hospital; Patterson Army Health Clinc; Ireland Army Community Hospital; McDonald Army Health Clinic; Kenner Army Health Clinic; Kimbrough Army Health Clinic; DeWitt Army Community Hospital; Kirk Army Health Clinic; DiLorenzo TRICARE Health Clinic; Connor Troop Medical Clinic; Community Based Warrior Transition Unit-Va.; Community Based Warrior Transition Unit-Mass.; and Community Based Warrior Transition Unit-Ill.
In addition to the newly reorganized Northern Regional Medical Command (NRMC), there are two other regional medical commands in the continental U.S. (CONUS): the Southern and Western Regional Medical Commands, which have been built from the previous Great Plains, Southeastern, and Western Regional Medical Commands.
