11th Wing BAFB

Bolling AFB is home to the 11th Wing – ‘‘The Chief’s Own,” and is situated on the East Bank of the Potomac River in our nation’s capital. Under the leadership of the Air force District of Washington and the commandelement for the U.S. Band and U.S. Air Force Honor Guard, it provides mission-ready Airmen determined to provide superior customer service, precise ceremonial and musical operations worldwide. It also represents the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force at events in support ofHeadquarters Air Force, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, theOffice of the Secretary of Defense and the White House.

As the host wing for Bolling, the 11th Wing alsoprovides superior base operating support to its assigned personnel, 19 tenant units and approximately 34,000Airmen and their families in the National Capital Region and 152 countries worldwide. In addition, the 11th Wing organizes, trains and equips Airmen for Air and SpaceExpeditionary Force deployments when tasked, formilitary support of civil authorities when asked and forcontingency response operations when needed.

Mission

Superior customer service ... always. We are entrusted to support a customer base of approximately 34,000 Air force personnel and their families. This includes providing a comprehensive base operating support to all assigned Airmen in the National Capital Region and worldwide.

Precise musical and ceremonial engagement ... asdirected. The Air Force Band, Honor Guard, and Arlington Chaplaincy are ceremonial ambassadors. They serve to foster morale, recruitment, and community relations, as well as honor our nation’s fallen.

Expeditionary response ... at home and abroad. We will nurture combat-ready forces in preparation for airexpeditionary force deployments around the world, as well as homeland operations in support of civil authorities in the United States.
