Receiving urgent medical careat Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center
Patients requiring urgent medical care should call Kimbrough’s Call Center at (301) 677-8606 to request a same-day appointment. If no appointments are available for what the patient thinks is an urgent problem, staff will transfer the call to the patient’s primary care manager’s triage nurse.

The triage nurse will facilitate an urgent referral, if required, which will allow the patient to go to a civilian provider. The nurse will specify which civilian care provider to whom the caller is authorized care.

If urgent care is needed after 4 p.m., Monday to Friday, weekends, or holidays, call KACC’s answering service at (800) 585-1359. The answering service will contact the primary-care manager. If you are traveling out of state and need urgent care, call Tricare at (877) 874-2273.

If a patient obtains civilian medical care without an urgent care referral, out-of-pocket expenses could be incurred.
