Bolling Eateries
Bolling offers a variety of places to eat, depending on tastes and the time of day. The Bolling Clubs,Potomac Lanes Bowling Center snack bar, Pettini’s Family Restaurant, and the Slip Inn (adjacent to the base marina) offer a delicious variety for just about anyone’s appetite.

Travel
Manassas Travel provides a convenient way to arrange government travel when on official business. Located in Room 116B in Building 13 on Brookley Avenue, this office provides all the resources needed for official travel. The office is open Monday through Friday.

Community Development
Community development initiatives are bestdescribed by example. Typically, they arecollaborative efforts between the 11th ServicesDivision’s community programs office and other base agencies and organizations. The primaryexample is the quarterly Bolling town hall meetings, chaired by the 11th Mission Support Groupcommander. All personnel who live and work on Bolling are invited and encouraged to attend this event to obtain informational briefings and raiseissues and concerns with senior leaders. Anotherexample is the ‘‘10-Mile-Per-Hour Campaign,”sponsored by the 11th Security Forces Squadron, to raise awareness that children’s lives depend on all community members adhering to the 10-mph speed limit in base housing.

Medical Services
The 579th Medical Group provides premier medical and dental care for enrolled beneficiaries in the National Capital Region. The Bolling Clinic is located on the first floor of Building 1300 and has a staff of providers specializing in family medicine and flight medicine. Services include well-baby appointments, pediatrics, women’s health, optometry, family advocacy, substance abuse control programs, force health protection, immunizations, health promotions, public health, laboratory, radiology and pharmacy.

Other military medical facilities in the area include Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., the Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Md., the DeWitt Army Hospital at Fort Belvoir, Va., the 79th Medical Group’s Malcom Grow Medical Center at Andrews AFB, Md., Fort McNair’s Health Clinic in Washington, D.C., Andrew Rader Army Health Clinic at Fort Myer, Va., and the medical facility at Quantico, Va. A TRICARE Service Center is also located in Building 1300. Staff members there can answer questions regarding enrollment and eligibility.

Dental Services
The 579th Dental Squadron, located on the second floor of Building 1300, provides comprehensivedental care for active duty personnel assigned to Bolling and the Washington metropolitan area.

Dental sick call for urgent or acute care is made by appointment. On holidays and after-duty hours, emergency care is available through the 79th Medical Wing at Andrews AFB, Md.

Dental care for all non-active duty beneficiaries is extremely limited, therefore all non-active dutypatients should select a civilian dentist to provideongoing dental care. Active duty family members may participate in the TRICARE active duty family member dental plan, which now provides expanded benefits for comprehensive and specialty care byparticipating civilian dentists.

Child Development Center
Children, ages six weeks to 5 years, can receivefull-time weekly care at one of two child development centers located on Bolling. Children go on the waiting list based on priority, request date and the child’s age. Rooms for infants, pre-toddlers, toddlers, 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds are available as well as a part-dayenrichment program for 3- and 4-year-olds. A certified kindergarten class is also available. In addition, there are licensed family day-care providers in base housing who can accommodate full-time care. The family childcare office is located in the Edward H. White Community Center on the second floor.

School Bus Transportation Program
Children residing on Bolling and in the adjacent Navy Bellevue housing community attend a variety of public schools as well as private schools in the local area. A specific informational guidebook and otherassociated literature on schools for those who reside on base can be obtained through the communityprograms office located in Building 4472 on Arnold Avenue. It is highly encouraged that you request your sponsor to include this information in your welcome package, if you’re planning to live on base.

You may also e-mail a request to: communityprograms@bolling.air force.mil or call the office at (202) 404-7710 or DSN 754-7710, and a package will be sent to you. You will need to provide your name and grade, daytime phone number, mailingaddress, PCS date and the grades your children will be in upon arrival to Bolling.

Because there are literally thousands of public and private schools within the commuting radius of Bolling in the D.C. metropolitan area, thecommunity programs office has specific information for only those schools that are in the base school bus transportation program.

Chapel Services
The chapel center is the hub of base-level chaplain service activities, such as care counseling, unitvisitation, worship, religious education andspecialized ministries. The chapel holds Catholic services, including weekday and weekend Masses, Rite of Reconciliation and religious education, and Protestant services including liturgical worship,traditional worship, gospel and contemporary praise service. Protestant religious education includesSunday school, children’s church, Bible studies and special events. Also, each of the worship services provides opportunities to participate in a musicministry.

Bolling is a Recycling Community
The 11th Wing is committed to leadership andexcellence in the protection and enhancement of our environment. Minimizing the amount of solid waste generated and recycling those components that arerecyclable is the responsibility of every individual working or living on Bolling. As good stewards of the environment all Bolling employees and familymembers are encouraged to participate 100 percent in the base recycling program. Education Services Centers – Centers for Adult and Continuing Education
The Education Services Centers are located in Building 11 on Bolling AFB and in Room 4A1088I in the Pentagon. It provides members of the 11th Wing and their families opportunities to achieve theirindividual educational goals. Both Service Centers provide educational and vocational counseling and other support services which may also be accessed from the Air Force Virtual Education Center Bolling and Pentagon websites and through the outreach education programs. Counselors and specialists are available to assist with commissioning programs and degree planning. Education Centers are the contact point for distance learning for Air Force Institute of Technology courses and professional militaryeducation courses such as Squadron Officer School, Air Command & Staff College, Air War College and Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy. DLversions include correspondence, internet, CD, video and seminar. Testing services available on a regular basis at both Centers include The Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Services, certification exams, PME end-of-course exams and proctoring for college distance learning exams. Learning Labs are available to help members sharpen their knowledge and build their skills in many areas to prepare them for college courses or DANTES exams. Militarypersonnel may access their own personal education record through the AFVEC to review goals, degree status and must apply for tuition assistance from their personal AFVEC account. Information on Veterans Administration education benefits and federal grants or loans is available through AFVEC or may bereviewed with a counselor in one of the Education Centers. Co-located in the Bolling Center areWebster University, University of Maryland-University College and Central Texas Collegeadministrative offices. These colleges anduniversities offer classes at Bolling Monday through Saturday as well as a full schedule of DL courses⁄programs. Commanders are encouraged to use these resources to bring all educational services into their organizations.

Airman and Family Readiness Center
The Bolling Airman and Family Readiness Center is located in Building 13 on Brookley Avenue. There is also an 11th Wing AFRC office in the Pentagon in Room 1E288. Members who are relocating to Bolling can access the SITES database online at www.dmdc.osd.mil⁄SITES for information about the base and surrounding communities as well aseducation, housing and employment issues.

The AFRC provides a broad spectrum of servicesdesigned both to assist newcomers as well as support families throughout their tour of duty in the National Capital Region. Relocation assistance, spouseemployment, volunteer opportunities and information and referral services are especially helpful to newarrivals. Other services include personal financialmanagement, family life education, deploymentassistance, personal and family readiness, andcomprehensive transition assistance services.

Family services, located in Building 502 next to the AFRC, is the volunteer component of the AFRC and has a loan locker available for families moving into or out of the area.

The Airman’s Attic, operated by the base’s Middle-Tier Council, offers donated household goods to members E-4 and below.

The AFRC plays a vital role in the military family life cycle, helping both base leadership and military families enhance the quality of Air Force life and support the Air Force mission.

Career Assistance Advisor
The 11th Wing Career Assistance Advisor’s office was established to advise officers and airmen in the National Capital Region on enlisted retention,activities and programs.

CAAs conduct interviews to determine individual career intent and provide information to positively influence retention or transfer to Air ReserveComponent, provide information and guidance on career decisions and monitor mandatory pay and benefits programs to ensure eligibles are briefed at appropriate intervals. Through briefings at commander’s calls or one-on-one meetings, we counselenlisted personnel on reenlistment opportunities and benefits and advise separating airmen on Air Force Reserve and Guard program benefits andopportunities. We develop and distribute publicity programs to airmen contemplating career decisions that promote continued Air Force service. The CAAs also have functional oversight of wing levelprofessional development⁄enhancement programs along with the First Term Airmen Center.

Training Offices
The training offices are located on Bolling,Building 11 or Pentagon, Room 5E1035. Theyprovide members of the 11th Wing opportunities to receive guidance and instructions on all mattersrelated to enlisted training regardless of thefunctional area. These offices are the commandauthority and advisor on military training and enlisted skill level upgrade requirements. They provide a monthly status of training brief to commanders and supervisors, that identifies personnel ‘‘in training”assigned to the 11th Wing and serves as the Office of Primary Responsibility for 7-level school quotamanagement, all Career Development Course issues, such as ordering CDC’s, processing CDC extensions, and coordinating end of course examinations. In addition, they manage the administration of the Air Force Training Course, insuring that the records of all members who complete the course are updated in Military Personnel Data System. Training officepersonnel conduct quarterly training manager meetings to insure members meet all of the requirements needed to provide accurate and timely training related services to trainees, trainers, and supervisors and also conduct Staff Assistance Visits to all assigned.

Library
The base library has more than 27,000 books, books-on-tape, videos, DVDs, magazines andperiodicals. Library computers provide access tonumerous periodicals, newspapers, business andsocial-issue databases, electronic books and practice college tests. Internet connectivity is also available at the library. Other equipment available includesphotocopiers, faxing service and a microfichereader⁄printer. The library staff offers libraryorientations, children’s programs, test-proctorservice, reference assistance and much more. Anyone with a valid government ID card may register for a library card.

Air Force Aid Society
The Air Force Aid Society offers financialassistance to meet temporary emergency needs. Itoperates within the family support center.

Interest-free loans and grants are based on need. In many cases, evaluation can be made on the spot, and loans up to $2,500 can be approved within the center. The Gen. Henry H. Arnold education grant provides $1,500 for dependent children of active duty, retired or deceased members on a competitive basis. Loans for spouses interested in vocational training areavailable. Free child care is available for volunteers serving the Bolling community.

Banking Services
There are two financial institution offices located on Bolling AFB. Pentagon Federal Credit Union islocated between the base exchange and the base youth center. The credit union offers share-draftaccounts, individual retirement accounts, loans and other financial services. Bank of America operates inside the commissary and also provides full banking services. There are eight automatic teller machines on Bolling. The ATMs are located at PentagonFederal Credit Union, outside the base exchange,inside the BX, outside the commissary, inside the commissary, in the base shoppette and in the lobby of Building 5681, which has entrances on Castle and Luke avenues.

Legal Assistance and Claims
The legal office provides legal advice andassistance for powers of attorney, notary services, wills, taxes, consumer affairs, landlord-tenant issues, adoptions, personal finances and domestic relations. The legal office is located in Building P-20.

Claims briefings to assist with proper filing of DD Forms 1840 are held at 10:15 a.m. Wednesdays. To file a completed claim, members must make anappointment by calling (202) 767-7598.

Commissary
Bolling boasts one of the Defense Commissary Agency’s most modern facilities, offering a complete selection of meat, dairy products, produce, frozen foods, fresh seafood, deli and fresh bakery items. The award-winning commissary also includes hot foods and in-store banking. Bank of America, locatedinside the commissary, is open Monday throughSaturday. Area Defense Counsel
Legal advice and assistance relating to adverse military justice matters are available from the area defense counsel office, located on the second floor of Building 4 on Brookley Avenue. For moreinformation, call (202) 404-6580.

Shopping on Bolling
The base exchange mall concessions include abarbershop, florist, nutrition shop, optical shop, car rental, wireless telephone shop, watch & jewelryrepairs, beauty shop and laundry⁄dry cleaning⁄alterations shop. The BX has 48,000 square feet of shopping space with one-stop shopping for thefamily including outdoor needs. The Army and Air Force Exchange Service’s military clothing sales store operates adjacent to the commissary and has a concession alteration shop within. There is a 24-hour laundromat located in Building 523. Building 1311 houses the combined AutoPride⁄ Shoppette stores featuring a state-of-the-art car care center, a gasstation, a shoppette, a Class 6 store, a video rental shop, and a Dunkin’ Donuts all under one roof.
