The 11th Wing is home to the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard and the U.S. Air Force Band, which provide worldwide flagship ceremonial and musical ambassadorship to boost troop morale, improve community relations, bolsterrecruiting support, provide support for funerals, and represent the Air Force at events in support of Headquarters Air Force (HAF), the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and the White House. The 11th Wing organizes, trains, equips, and deploys expeditionary combat support forces forhomeland operations and worldwide Air and Space Expeditionary Forces (AEFs). When in garrison, the Wing supports approximately 36,000 Air Force personnel and their families in the National Capital Region (NCR) andworldwide; it also provides comprehensive wartime base operating support to all assigned Air Force organizations and their personnel to include force protection, logistics, engineering, MWR, manpower, personnel, programming, and comptroller support.
